I received a message this morning which presented this question: is a petition for King Arthur really important during the current state of our world (specifically during the government shutdown; where men and women will be going without pay)? I can clearly and boldly answer that question; as I am directly affected by the shutdown and will have a husband reporting to work on Monday without pay. Here is my answer: I am aware that there are a lot of difficult things going on in the world right now. I am aware that there are things that are important and necessary to address and discuss, but sometimes I just want a break from it all! I realize my petition isn't going to solve any major world problems, but it might give someone a much needed 2 hours of relaxation and enjoyment. Regardless of our situation, we have this common ground: we all need something that brings a little happiness and joy into our lives. King Arthur was exactly that for me- a break from problems, politics, and the stresses of life. For that reason, I will continue to work on this petition as long as it continues to bring in signatures. I appreciate all of you that have taken the time to sign and support this endeavor!
