More concerning news this week in that the National Chair of PFEW, Steve Hartshorn, was suspended by the Executive. He is now subject to an “internal governance process”. Albeit details are scant (a usual PFEW tactic), it is not serious enough to warrant any concerns or investigation by his home force. It is purely an internal PFEW matter. 

What this means, in laymans terms, is that the kangaroo court system of PFEW will now be in full throttle. An “investigation” which will be riddled with supposition, conjecture and where any rules of natural justice will be deliberately ignored.

The National Chair’s position is elected by every single member of the Federation so we demand a process which has transparency, is ethical and can stand the test of scrutiny (all things which do not feature in the vocabulary of them leading this process).

If ever there was a time to sign this petition then now is the time. We have no confidence and know that whilst the Federation is in turmoil and imploding, the service to police officers across England and Wales is being ignored - not by local reps but by those who couldn’t be any further from the frontline.
