Social connection, fresh air and exercise are fundamental to physical and mental health and survival. The Victorian Government's Corrections Amendment Bill 2026 (No Air in Prison Bill) seeks to legalise the inhumane lockdowns and solitary confinement currently rife across Victorian prisons, including the Dame Phyllis Frost women's prison. 

For people already living with trauma, mental ill-health or disability - as the vast majority of people in prison are -  these conditions compound suffering, increase the risk of self-harm, suicidal ideation and long-term psychological injury.

Join us on the steps of Parliament next Wednesday lunchtime 12 August to call on the government to withdraw the No Air bill and stop suffocating human rights.
