I HAVE HEARD BACK FROM TUMINEZ & WILL BE SENDING THIS DIRECTLY TO THE UVU MEMORIAL COMMITTEE TODAY!!!!
Send your thoughts if you have not done so!!! (and a big thank you for all who have🫶)
back to our regular scheduled programming...
STATS IN A DASH:
- We hit 3,500+ signatures!!!!!! 🖋️
- Our Petition got 2 NEW stories since I last updated in both KSL & Salt Lake Tribune
- The KSL story has generated hundreds of comments and SLT just dropped this morning
- We are incredibly grateful to the reporters for taking the time to sit and listen to our story and share our petition.
- UVU has put together a UVU Memorial committee
- We encourage everyone to share their ideas about what they would like to see on campus, as well as what they would prefer not to see built. USE YOUR VOICE!!!
- We are putting together a formal packet to help articulate our concerns and will formally request to still present our communities concerns in person to the committee.
- So please mention you want to see us, the authors of this petition in the room where it happens. It's incredibly important that we don't just advocate behind screens but face to face with those who will be making this decision.
There most likely will not be very many updates in between now and when we hear the verdict, be hopeful and of good cheer. I'll remind y'all to submit your ideas in the meantime and today I will leave you with a quote on hope, our word of the day.
"Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something is worth doing no matter how it turns out."
