We are thrilled to share some fantastic news with all of you! The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has shown strong support for a groundbreaking partnership between the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) and local stakeholder groups. Save Our Key Deer, Inc. (SOKD) has generously volunteered to build the new rehabilitation center for appropriate Key Deer rehabilitation cases. Their commitment and expertise will be invaluable in providing immediate and timely care. This collaboration will establish much needed care for our beloved federally endangered Key Deer.

This partnership marks a significant milestone. It will alleviate the burden on USFWS and FWCC by ensuring a consistent and timely response to reports of injured Key Deer. With this new framework, we can enhance volunteer engagement and mobilize our community’s passion and resources more effectively to address Key Deer issues.

Thank you, each and every one of you, for supporting this petition and advocating for the Key Deer. Your voices have been crucial in driving this progress, and together, we are making a real difference in the protection and recovery of this endangered species.
