Today we joined People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in protesting Wildbirch Hotel (JdV by Hyatt) over its sponsorship of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

Throughout the day we received numerous thumbs-up, honks of support from passing drivers, and even had two local residents stop and join the protest alongside us. Several teachers attending the Iditarod Educator Conference also came over to speak with us and take informational leaflets. One teacher shared that multiple parents at her school have excused their children from the conference lesson plans because they do not want them exposed to content connected to animal cruelty.

We were able to connect with many people today and have meaningful conversations about the welfare of sled dogs.
