As a long-time owner and fervent enthusiast of the BMW 5 Series Touring, I am writing this petition to rally support for a beloved feature - the separately opening rear window.

This feature, a staple since the release of the original E34, is incredibly convenient, allowing owners to quickly place items in the cargo area without opening the entire tailgate. It's particularly advantageous in tight spaces, such as parking garages, where there is limited room to fully extend the tailgate.

However, in the current model G61, BMW has chosen to omit this incredibly useful feature. Despite its practicality, it seems the designers and/or decision-makers at BMW have overlooked the immense value and utility of this design element. This simple, yet impactful feature is more than just a gadget - it’s a necessity for many - and it is what differentiates BMW from its competitors in the market.

With this petition, we are pushing for BMW to bring back the independently opening rear window in the next iteration of the 5 Series Touring, upholding a valued tradition and acknowledging customer feedback.

The next 5 Series Touring model has the potential to reinstate this much-loved feature and preserve the charm that originally contributed to draw us to the BMW brand. We, the longstanding and loyal BMW customers, request the team at BMW to consider our appeal.
