Even though the impression that the living quarters will provide privacy, based on 1,000 people and all of the other amenities that are needed (bathrooms, showers, kitchen, storage facilities, administrative rooms, etc.) it's very unlikely that it will be possible.
• What about families with children? How will they be housed?
• Animals on site will create challenges - flees, rabies and other health related issues, including aggression towards other dogs and people
• What are the storage facility capabilities and how will this be managed?
• We've been informed by other service providers that security will be a serious challenge. 1,000 people is a lot to manage, safely and effectively.
• There is a shortage of people to work in this environment. How will they be selected and trained. (You have to be trained extensively to work long term in this type of a facility.)
• How do they address sex offenders? Where will they reside?
• How do they address drug offenders? How will they be managed?
• There will be fights on site due to cramped quarters and the variety of mental health issues of those residing there. Tight security will be a necessity.
• We know that the drug cartels will be on this site as soon as the doors open. What precautions and security will be on site and around the property to protect those at the facility and in surrounding communities?
• How will the city address the liabilities from deaths and accidents and bad press from people being hit by vehicles on Kettner Street?
• Is there a crisis management plan being initiated by the city to address all of the above?
