Hello neighbors! You are all heroes. We are almost at 450 signatures on the counter-petition.  I truly appreciate you standing up for our community values and your support and involvement with our public library.

As you know, the Regional Library Board will meet this Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at 11am to vote on whether or nott to adopt the Guidelines for Determining Book Placement which I included in my last update.

Columbia County library patrons, please share your opinions of the Guidelines with your hardworking Library Board members using this handy form and encourage the Board to adopt the Guidelines which simply provides guidance from the local government regarding the shelving for books based on our community's sense of obscenity which is, unfortunately, becoming more and more common in books for all age-groups.

If you need an example of a recently-reshelved book you can get a balanced perspective on the title "Tell Me - What children Really Want to Know About Bodies, Sex, and Emotions by a German author Katherina von der Gathen.

What does the ALA say about this book? https://bookresumes.uniteagainstbookbans.org/wp-content/uploads/Tell-Me_9781776572328_Book-Resume_FINAL.pdf

You decide whether this book is obscene or not; that';s what community standards is all about. God bless you and thank you for your support!
