While I have attached the link to this petition to my own emails to him, a petition can be overlooked but having hundreds of emails asking him to reconsider filling his mailbox says this is a bad appointment on an much louder note. Dear Mayor Chirico and/or Members of the City Council,

I am writing to you today, as a resident of Naperville and part of this city’s voting public (for the last ___ years) in regards to my total and complete opposition to Shannon Adcock being appointed to the Naperville SECA Commission. The Mission Statement of the City of Naperville and the SECA Grant Program (overseen by SECA Commission) both call for inclusion and values diversity amongst residents and they City. Shannon Adcock (along with the hate group she started, Awake IL), is a bigot, she divisive and full of hatred toward anything that is not far-right “Christian” values. She has repeatedly attacked minority members and allies of your city, Mr. Mayor, and is unfit to hold any public office, especially a position on a board that is meant to celebrate culture and diversity. I ask you to reconsider your potential nomination of Shannon Adcock to the SECA Commission and, instead, chose one of our many citizens that are not only spreading the mission of equity and inclusion but are also living that mission and has a proven track record as such. Also, please reconsider appointing Kevin Coyne to the Library Board as he already publicly opposes the libraries that don't ban/burn books that *HE* believes are inappropriate. No one should have the power to ban anything or withhold funding from anyone. Adcock and Coyne are Wrong for Naperville.
