Tomorrow: we’re taking your petition back to Downing Street

Tomorrow, Tuesday 20 October, Maddie and I will take your petition back to Downing Street, carrying more than 293,000 signatures-and your voices-with us.
More than four and a half years since we launched the petition, our ask remains simple: end fines and prosecutions for families facing barriers to attendance, and for the Prime Minister to meet with us to hear why support, not court, is the right approach.
Joining us at No. 10 will be representatives from Not Fine in School, Square Peg and the Unauthorised Absence team, including Anna Maxwell Martin, Square Peg ambassador and a producer of the film. We’re also pleased to be joined by Claire Young MP along with other parliamentarians.
Every signature represents someone who believes families should not be criminalised when their children can’t attend school. Thank you for signing, sharing and staying with this campaign.
Before we go, please share the petition with someone who hasn’t yet signed. Your support has brought us this far and helps us keep pressing for change.
We’ll update you after the delivery to let you know how it went.
Support not court.
Susan and Maddie
