We would like to thank all of you who took the time to call, email or write to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, asking for his help in ending the South Korea’ horrendously cruel Dog Meat Trade. Click for our campaign to contact the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon! http://koreandogs.org/contact-unsg-ki-moon-ban/
We received an unsigned form letter response from the Public Inquiries Unit of the Department of Public Information of The United Nations, saying that they had carefully read and noted the contents. They said that while they sympathized with the request, that due to protocols, they basically could do nothing about the Dog Meat Trade.
Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon is a citizen of South Korea before he is Secretary General of the United Nations. If he is not willing to help end the terrible atrocity against millions of defenseless companion animals taking place in his own country, how can we trust and respect his character and his ability to lead the United Nations effectively? How can he motivate and inspire his own staffs at the United Nations to perform their job in keeping the peace around the world if he cannot earn their respect? If the Secretary General of the United Nations doesn’t have the power to help end the dog meat industry in his own country, who does?
Avoiding the issue of his country’s extreme cruelty by giving us dedicated, compassionate animal rights activists the run-around with weak excuses is very shameful and disappointing.
This will not stop us! Let us continue to flood his office with our letters, our phone calls and our emails, because we know that each letter has to be read and processed, if even to send only a form letter in return. We will not be silenced by Secretary General Ban’s indifference and inaction! Click to take action! http://koreandogs.org/contact-unsg-ki-moon-ban/
Thank you!
