Firstly and foremost I want to state clearly, there is no disrespect meant to the City of Lake Worth Beach Board of Commissioners.

This comment is merely to discuss the facts as myself and most of the residents and rate payers see them, while correcting what is wrong with these facts! This will also serve as evidence that the City of Lake Worth Beach SHOULD NOT be in the Electrical supply business. A vote to turn it over to Florida Power & Light, should be taken as soon as possible. Then the Board will have time to run our fair City, which is a full time task. Supplying Electricity, which the Board of Commissioners is clearly not qualified or experienced in, only takes time and resources from managing our fair City of Lake Worth Beach and should be voted to be terminated as soon as possible! 

We the residents and rate payers vote you into office to serve and protect the interests of the residents and rate payers of the City of Lake Worth Beach.      Part of your duties as the management of the Lake Worth Beach Electrical Utility is to monitor the costs to purchase and provide electricity to the rate payers. As responsible managers, the Board of Commissioners should have seen the current energy crisis coming. It has been growing for over a year and a half now. These cost increases should have been trended and proactively addressed and accessed, incrementally and much sooner. This would have and should have eased the rising costs, hardships and burdens to the rate payers.

Instead this Board of Commissioners waited and waited until the cost to purchase and provide electricity was impossible to sustain. This caused the City Board of Commissioners to react abruptly and in haste, to cover a short fall in revenue. This unfairly passed the hardship and burden on to the rate payers! The Board of Commissioners must realize and accept their failure here. Emergency and Immediate action needs to be implemented. Some peoples lives will be shattered over this issue and others will be changed for the worse, forever. 

The Board of City Commissioners got us into this mess - NOW - you need to get us out of this mess!
