SOS! Syria is dying! We demand immediate international airlifts for Syria!

Deutsch-Arabische Gesellschaft, DAG (†Peter Scholl-Latour) DAG hat diese Petition an UN Security Council gestartet.

Syria has been in a war of self-destruction since spring 2011 and more than 150 000 civilians have lost their lives until today. A big part of the country is destroyed, including its cities. The fields cannot be tilled anymore and the economy has been set back for 4 decades. Eight million internally displaced persons live in fields of rubble or tents, without any hope for an end of this terrible war. Children cannot go to school and millions of people stranded in primitive emergency shelters that were hurriedly created. Only a few people managed to reach Europe with the help of smuggling networks.

The Lebanon is facing collapse; without external aid, the state will stifle physically. Thousands of people squat in 38 unorganized refugee camps at the Turkish border with Syria, being tormented with fear and hunger and this in constant fear of aerial attacks and the fear of the disempowered marauding soldiers. In the meantime, Jordan is overflowing with refugee camps in the desert, which were hurriedly created.

We call on Germany, we call on the EU and the CIS, we appeal to the member states of the UN Security Council countries to set up international airlifts immediately and transport relief supplies (tents, building material, medication and food) to the Turkish-Syrian border, Lebanon and Jordan to stem tide of misery.

This is about survival by humanity.

We demand immediate international airlifts to rescue the people in Syria.
