I am really pleased to announce we have reached our 100 signature goal and have made some minor yet significant action towards the current standards of Medical cannabis in the UK.

I would like to say that I have had communication, with the UK's first licenced producer of Medicinal Cannabis who can sell within the UK market. The CEO of Glass Pharms has reassured me that the products they will be releasing into the UK market will be of AAA Standards, with no irradiation or other treatment, keeping the medication as organic as possible while complying with regulation. The CEO mentioned that only when a Pharmaceutical Client requests irradiated products will they do so.

Currently in the UK Medical Market patients are struggling to obtain their medication due to poor stock issues. The MHRA had reclassified Cannabis as a Pharmaceutical from a Herbal. This may seem confusing or bad to people but it is actually positive news. Pharmaceutical products are those that have had clinical testing, follows regulation as well as the compounds and their side effects found in the product are known. Herbal products have not been tested enough, is not regulated and lastly the product has unknown compounds and unknown side effects.

We need more action to be taken, this can really be done by us (the consumers). We have spoken out online and during our appointments, and they listen. This petition has made momentum and is currently being discussed. Yet this is not enough, many patients are still struggling either to pay for their prescription or to even obtain it.

Please take this time to share this petition with friends and family, share your story so people can understand the struggles and the reality of UK Medical Cannabis. I would also like to take this opportunity to ask for you all to write to your MP, we must push for higher standards of Medical Cannabis but most importantly its availability. On 25th February there will be a second reading for the Medical Cannabis (Access) Bill, this is something we must also push for, to allow more access and availability of Medicinal Cannabis on the NHS.
