The word "Atrsakh" is an alternative name of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia. The Nagorno-Karabakh and 7 adjacent regions comprise 20% of Azerbaijani territories that are still under Armenian occupation for more than 25 years.

Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan has always been accompanied by the ethnic cleansing campaign and systematic destruction of historical and cultural monuments. 613 peaceful civilians were killed with an unforeseen brutality in Khojaly alone in one night. After the invasion of Nagorno Karabakh region, Armenia has also built a so-called regime by violating international norms and principles in order to reinforce the consequences of its aggression.

The U.N. Security Council has adopted four resolutions regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in 1993 that confirms the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenian armed forces. Resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 - adopted in 1993 by UNSC - call for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. However, Armenia refrains from implementing the demands of The U.N. Security Council.

U.S. government has repeatedly stated that it does not recognize the independence of this so-called regime.

Azerbaijani people who suffered from the Armenian occupation for many years are very concerned about the designation of “Artsakh Avenue” in one of the streets in Glendale. With signing this Petition, we request for the Glendale Municipality to reject the name of "Artsakh".
