As many probably already have, I submitted various reports to Twitter regarding Matt Walsh's abusive conduct which have gone unanswered. As a result of Twitter's lack of transparency with rule enforcement and apparent disinterest in following up on valid reports, I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in attempt to seek resolution.
The text of the complaint reads:
I have sent various reports to Twitter's Safety Team regarding user Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) (UID: 1500129642) and his harassment against others. Walsh routinely violates Twitter's policies against Violence, Abuse/Harassment, and Hateful Conduct. He has posted racist, homophobic, transphobic, and otherwise abusive materials in the past and continues to post such materials. Walsh has engaged in various courses of conduct which make Twitter unsafe, including but not limited to: - an organized harassment campaign against Eli Erlick - a harassment campaign against Boston Children's Hospital - harassment against a queer harvard law instructor - harassment and intimidation against various journalists Evidence has been provided, Tweets have been reported, yet Twitter has not yet responded. I request that Twitter respond and provide an appropriate way to submit evidence and work with a human at the company to deal with this abuse. I have attached a PDF of a blog post, which contains links to archived abusive tweets by Matt, as evidence for this purpose.
It has been sent to Twitter by the BBB.
