I have some fabulous news to pass on to you that seems especially fitting in Christmas week...

Jack Ryan's girlfriend Liz has had a baby girl. She is called Millie and both mum and baby are doing well.

Liz told me that Jack and her had been trying for a baby by IVF in the months before the awful tragedy on 13th January. Thanks to the miracle of science and good fortune, she was able to continue the process and Millie arrived two weeks ago.

Liz said: "We are so happy she is here and we think Jack would be pretty proud of his tiny creation."

It is remarkable and deeply moving to think of this wonderful news coming in the wake of such sadness. I am sure you will all like to join me in wishing Liz and Millie all the luck and happiness in the world in the years ahead.
