Kingsbury Pond Meeting Update *Please Read*

There were a lot of passionate people that showed up at the meeting and several more that couldn't make it. There will be more opportunities to show your support in the future. We will hone our strategy as we engage our resources and think this matter out methodically. Shawn Dooley has been very supportive of the effort to renew our interest in protecting the future of this pond. He may not always be able to attend a meeting because things come up, but it's not a reflection of his commitment. If anyone is interested in a deeper discussion about this, please let me know and I'll pass your info on to the organizers of this grassroots effort. Yes, meetings can be frustrating, especially in the beginning when we're all trying to get caught up on what has been done to date, what remains to be done and sift through the options that are most reasonable. Hang in there. There are people working diligently behind the scenes to attack this issue from the best angle. The first public meeting hosted at the library was a temperature test of the issue as it stands in 2016. Rest assured that conversations are happening and actions are being taken to prepare us for the next step. There's over 50 years of history on this specific issue and the people engaged at the deepest level are doing their best to look at this with fresh eyes. Is it frustrating? Sure. Is it sad? Of course. Is there hope? Absolutely. If you have passion for this issue, please stay involved. It's a slow process and deserves not only our passion but also our patience and perseverance. As a side note, I personally hate this being a "Norfolk v Franklin" discussion. That will get us nowhere. This is a story that's bigger than two towns. It's about recognizing the right thing to do, regardless of where you live. If there are solutions to be found, we should be able to find them without being unreasonable...not matter which town we call home.
