March for Officer Robert Sisco
6/21 Topps Parking Lot New Paltz, NY 12pm to 2pm
Join Us and please
•Conduct yourself civilly and peacefully.
•Please engage in only civil and constructive conversation.
•Bring a flag or a sign.
•Megaphones & Signage - NO SWEARING, NO NASTY NAME CALLING.
•Use crosswalks and buttons accordingly. Do not block or stop traffic, we will not be moving so quickly as to leave anyone behind.
•Be respectful to the town businesses and children's ears that may be around us.
• We are there to support not only Officer Sisco but our Police and All of our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms.
Please keep this event peaceful as I am sure there may be some of the same people on the street who radically called for Officer Sisco to be fired and labeled him as a "transphobic" because of his statement of belief in two genders. I do not think that the officers belief would cause him to treat a Trans person differently than someone who's not, while on the job. I support our constitution and part of our 1st amendment is Freedom of expression. I personally did not agree with every statement of the officer but nothing that he said was threatening, dangerous or hateful. That said, I completely disagree with the threat to Officer Sisco's livelyhood based on his music video of self expression. He also should not be forced to make a fake apology for his words simply because many townfolk disagree with him. I do not personally know Mr. Sisco but I will stand for him and his family because I do not believe Officer Sisco's action warrants his termination. Every officer is a human being just like you and I. Everyone has faults and flaws, some more than others. Every individual has differences of opinions, thoughts, beliefs, values, hair color, skin color, shoe size, sense of style, etcetera.... The discrimination being shown to our police officers these days is wrong. We all need to come together to find common ground and understanding that we are all people and no matter our differences there is always something we can discover about one another despite our differences that can bring us together. The United States of America is different because we are free to have our differences of individuality ❤️; sometimes that concept seems to be difficult for some people to accept.
Hope to see you there
