Firstly, Thankyou all for your continued support by signing and sharing the petition, commenting and also speaking to your local councillors. We currently stand at just shy of 3,100 signatures��☺️ Absolutely amazing. The more locals we get signing and commenting the better, however everyone’s signatures from all over Devon, England and the world are HIGHLY APPRECIATED. I’m sure most of you may have seen that the Mayor tried to call off the council debate meeting next Thursday 21st and just go ahead and sell Oldway without listening to anyone else, not just us, but all the MPs and Working Party. MPs such as Chris Robson, David Thomas and Kevin Foster have all spoken out against the Mayors heartless and inconsiderate actions. Unfortunately, there is no cabinet system at the moment so the Mayor has a ridiculous amount of power, however thanks to the MPS, the Working Party and the Councillors and this petition and ALL OF YOU - a call-in has been arranged to oppose the Mayors decision to just go ahead and sell Oldway! An important meeting is being held TONIGHT to debate the future of oldway and hopefully keep option 1 in the works! It is being held at Torquay Town Hall TODAY at 5.30pm, I’ve been told there are limited numbers so come early if you wish to attend! I believe the original meeting next THURSDAY 21st June 5.30pm at the RICC is also still happening. Please please attend both if you can, and continue to sign/share/comment and speak to your local councillors!
