All because someone “said” Pepè nipped them. They never even had to be checked out by a dr. Just make a few phone calls and even though Pepè DID have the Imrab3 vaccination, she was euthanized, decapitated, tested for rabies, found to be negative and I got her headless body back in that trash bag that you see in the photo and buried her. This is BARBARIC! Haven’t we came forward in this country than to MURDER an innocent animal that just happened to be born a skunk? Isn’t that a form of discrimation?? I mean, let’s say a dog HADNT had a rabies vaccine, wasn’t showing signs of rabies, bit someone, not viciously, but nipped, it wouldn’t get MURDERED! It would get quarantined, even though it hadn’t had a vaccination. Pepè HAD the vaccination, it has been used on wildlife, I have the certificate to prove that, but “because she is a skunk, that’s the law. She has to be killed”. People I am telling you these “laws” need to be updated and changed! The vaccine works on wildlife. They are being fed it every year by OUR GOVERNMENT AND WE PAY FOR IT AS TAXPAYERS! But the company, Merial, won’t put the names of the wildlife on the label! This isn’t fair! It’s discrimination in the biggest form! So, in a sense, I paid for Pepè to be killed because I’m a taxpayer. I pay the salaries of the Fish and Wildlife officer and the Health Dept worker that gave me FINES and a court date and I paid for the state lab workers to tear my baby’s brain apart just to show something we all already knew! Not only did I pay for that, so did you, the reader of this... you’re a taxpayer too! And a sad thing is, Pepè wasn’t the only one this has happened to, but I want her to be the last! Please join me.
