HGV UPDATE: I had a meeting with Cllr Peter Smith today and I was shown several options that have been drawn up in an attempt to deal with the HGV problem in Aveley.

From 16th January there will be a letter sent to residents in Aveley to show you these options. Here you will see what is being proposed and for you to have your thoughts and comments concerning them and select an option you would prefer.

There are 4 or more options available and the accompanying letter will show the breakdown of each option including how much each costs and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

One option in particular has ability to cover the HGV issue and to deal with Aveley being used as a rat-run from other areas that may or may not benefit you.

You are invited to mix and match these options or even suggest your own. I suggested one or two amendments to one of the plans that has been taken into consideration.

The completed form should be either posted or dropped at Aveley library, where there will be a display showing the options available. There is also the option to complete the form online.

The closing date will be the 28th February and the possibility of a public consultation meeting after, should there be enough responses from you, the residents.

You are strongly urged to complete this form. This is your say over the situation in Aveley that is increasing daily. If we don’t get enough responses, the council will take the decision themselves after advice from traffic management.

Thurrock council are listening and they are going to deal with the problem. Let’s make it OUR option which suits us.

I am looking at future dates to bring the petition to the next convenient council meeting so if you haven’t signed it, please do so on the link below.
