Police Scotland have admitted they hadn’t attended Robbie Smullen’s bail address for 3 days, to ensure he was complying with his court ordered 7pm to 7am curfew and when he was out violently attacking other people before stabbing Barry to death.  In the sentence following this admission, it is stated by a Police Scotland Superintendent - “I AM THEREFORE SATISFIED THE BAIL CHECKS WERE BEING ROBUSTLY ENFORCED”

ROBUSTLY ENFORCED - 3 days had passed!

Robbie Smullen had breached every single bail order imposed on him over the years by reoffending and there were a lot of bail orders. He had also breached his previously court ordered 7pm to 7am Police curfews. In February 2016 he violently attacked a man in an unprovoked attack in the city centre of Perth while breaching bail orders and a court ordered 7pm to 7am Police curfew, he was jailed for 16 months, at which time the Judge stated, “Only you know which path you will take once you are at liberty. But certainly, at the moment, the prospects for you are pretty bleak.” He of course only served half of his sentence under the law in Scotland and he was back out among the public, as violent as ever, continuing to re-offend.  It was the prospects ahead for members of the public that should have been at the forefront of any decisions about this monster. A number of innocent people suffered as a result of his cowardly violence before he went on to murder our child and destroy our lives.  He will be back out among the public far too soon, and then what, who suffers then?
