Dear all, Remember that if you are attending an SG50 event in your country, so ask the organiser to make an announcement regarding this petition. Many overseas Singaporeans are still completely unaware of this new rule. I had earlier stated that I would close this petition by the end of July if we did not reach 1,000. Many have asked for this to be extended so that we can get more word out. It seems that elections date is being set for 12 Sep 2015 (still speculation) we need to give them about a month to act or risk losing our vote, so I'm hoping to get the petition submitted before August 15, 2015. However, we need 1,000++ to be effective. So, do continue sharing this.. And if everyone can get a family member to sign, then we have no problem reaching the 1,000 mark. More important than signatures are stories -- How this rule will adversely impact someone's life, or how you are in a jurisdiction with healthcare systems that would ensure you will never return to Singapore for healthcare needs. Do get people to write a good account of their stories before submitting their signatures on the petition. I've been very moved by some stories, and I'm quite surprised at how we have almost doubled our numbers in 2 weeks. 11 more days now. Let's make it count!
