My letter to:
The United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention to Protect
And the Responsibility to Prevention of Genocide:
Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide: General Mr. Adama Dieng.
Dear supporter of this petition
Thank you for your unwavering support.
On the 18th November 2017 I wrote the following letter to Mr. Adama Dieng, Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide:
Dear Mr. Adama Dieng
Concerning: An urgent appointment for me and a South African delegation of Civil Rights organizations with a delegation of South African Pastors, Bishops, and other Christian leaders, as well as a South African and American delegation of Christian leaders from the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. to meet with you to present to you a petition signed by 130,000 petitioners from South Africa and many nations throughout the world, to discuss the deteriorating situation in South Africa pertaining to rampant crime and violence and the threatened genocide of a particular sector of our farming community who are the main producers of fresh food in South Africa.
My name is Louis Michael Green and I am a pastor in Cape Town, South Africa and a Senior Suffragan Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc., an American Christian organization.
I am not a member of any political party and I have no political agenda.
I write to you in my personal capacity as a pastor, a spiritual leader and a Senior Suffragan Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. My work is mainly amongst the poorest of the poor within the townships of the Cape Town, the Western Cape, South Africa.
One of my important tasks is to feed destitute children who do not have any food security in these townships on a regular basis.
FOOD SECURITY and the sustainable production of food for the nation is the key motivation for this letter and the petition to STOP FARM MURDERS throughout our nation, which has now escalated to the early stages of a genocide of Afrikaans speaking farmers and their families in South Africa, who are the key producers of food for our nation.
My petition is in support of all farmers – commercial as well as small farmers, including all racial groups. All our farmers are the producers of fresh meat, fruit and vegetables each day. If they are being murdered at the present alarming rate, we would soon have no food in our country and we all would face starvation.
What would happen to the many destitute children in these townships?
On the 26th of October (about 3 weeks ago), I started an online petition using www.change.org to appeal to people nationally and internationally to support my petition to the UN to stop farm murders.
The link is: https://www.change.org/p/the-secretary-general-of-the-united-nationsend-farm-murders-in-south-africa
Initially, I expected only a few hundred signatures, but within 5 days I had 116,000 signatures, which was a clear indication from the farming community nationally and internationally to the seriousness of the problem in our motherland.
The petition has since acquired 132,000 signatures and is growing still growing rapidly every day. This has caught me completely by surprise.
Many of my petitioners believe it would be a waste of our time to take the petition to the South African State President, Mr Jacob Zuma, because he has done nothing about the farm murders since his election and he continues to do nothing.
It would be a similar waste of time to take the petition to our Minister of Police, Mr. Fikile Mbalula, because he has dismissed the wide spread farm murders as a nonissue and he has not released the specific statistics of farm attacks and murders in South Africa.
We, however, have great confidence in your office and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, that you will be able to place our petition on the international agenda.
I have noticed that “a key task of the Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect is to support the early warning role that the Special Advisers on the Prevention of Genocide and on the Responsibility to Protect play, as well as their advocacy efforts to mobilize the United Nations system and Member States to take effective action in response to situations where populations are at risk of atrocity crimes (genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes) or where these crimes are ongoing.
The Office’s work on early warning of atrocity crimes is based on the premise that these crimes do not happen overnight. They are processes; they require planning and preparation. There are warning signs, and common risk factors, both structural and dynamic, that can lead to or enable the commission of these crimes. Once the risk factors are detected, it will be possible to identify measures that can be taken by States and the international community to reduce the likelihood of atrocity crimes occurring.”
And this is exactly the main reason for my letter.
I can place before you irrefutable evidence of the early warning signs of a genocide in South Africa. I have in my possession:
The signatures of 132,000 petitioners who signed the petition and who are citizens of the following countries: South Africa (all the 9 provinces), the United Kingdom, the United States of America, New Zealand, Romania, Australia, Namibia, Belgium, Ireland, Malta, Nigeria, France, United Arab Emirates, Mauritius, Slovenia, Zimbabwe, Canada, Norway, Malaysia, Italy, Reunion, Isle of Man, Switzerland, Qatar, 4 Saudi Arabia, The Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Bahrain, Uganda, Kuwait, Zambia, Mali, Portugal, Austria, Botswana, Mozambique, Uruguay, Cyprus, Chili, Costa Rica, South Korea, Taiwan, Sweden, Greece, Thailand, Turkey, India, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Congo (DRC), Israel, Lesotho, Denmark, and so many others.
I have the 5,500 x A4 pages in my personal possession to prove that the citizens of the countries above actually signed the petition for the attention of the United Nations.);
I have also sent an electronic copy of the names of the above 132,000 petitioners, as well as 1,000 pages of comments by the petitioners, to the prosecutor of the INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT in the Hague, TO REQUEST THE PROSECUTOR, MADAME FATOU BENSOUDA, TO START PROCEEDINGS AGAINST MR JULIUS MALEMA, THE LEADER OF THE ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS (EFF) FOR THE CONTRAVENTION OF SUBSECTION (b) AND (c) OF ARTICLE III OF THE 1948 CONVENTION ON THE PREVENTION AND PUNISHMENT OF GENOCIDE;
3) I have also consulted with several civil rights organizations in South Africa who have dossiers on information of carefully planned murders of the mentioned farming community in South Africa;
4) I also submit to you several clips of video evidence on Mr Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) encouraging and inciting his followers to commit hate crimes and to murder all the members of a particular ethnic group (the Afrikaans speaking farmers) in South Africa:

Mr Malema, upon becoming a Member of Parliament, took an oath of office that he would uphold the Constitution, but he flagrantly disregards and violates our South African constitution on countless occasions and trample on the rights of a particularly farming community with impunity. When he makes these speeches of hatred inciting violence, the police, who is present, and who represents our government, does absolutely nothing.
The Speaker of Parliament does not call him to account, nor the President of our country, Mr. Jacob Zuma.
He is completely out of control and is a disgrace to our country nationally as well as internationally.
I would like to meet with you with my delegation to discuss with you a proposal that the United Nations institute an independent commission of inquiry into farm murders in South Africa in order to investigate the root causes of such murders and to give recommendations to the United Nations General Assembly to discuss because our South African government has done nothing to reverse the early signs of a genocide, because it does not regard farm murders a priority crime.
Our 132,000 petitioners representing many nations of the world require real and genuine action on the ground to stop the senseless killings of farmers in our country.
We are mindful that all murders everywhere in South Africa are reprehensible and should be stopped.
However, the murder of farmers do not only impact the loss of life, but also has a snowball effect of robbing our nation of its food security. Without food, thousands, if not millions of our children would starve throughout South Africa, in general, but in particular the townships and in informal settlements.
I am looking forward to your response to my request for a possible date when I and my delegation could personally visit your office in New York with a substantial amount of evidence to support this letter.
Kind Regards
