Hi all,
Well I do wish that I could update you on the progress of the ACCC's investigation of Misleading or Deceptive conduct in relation to the 80+ Medibank Private members complaints to the ACCC. But unfortunately the ACCC are not returning calls, honouring their commitments to feedback timelines or indeed acknowledging emails, I can only assume that some serious interference in the process of investigation has occurred and I am extremely concerned by the lack of consultation per the following.
1. Most complaints were lodged from mid October
2. On the 28th of October I called Rod Simms CEO of the ACCC to enquire about progress and process for the lodged complaints. Told someone will call me back.
3. On 30th October Scott Gregson Executive GM of Enforcement called me back, we had a brief conversation and when I questioned what progress and process for investigation was in place he undertook to email me and call me with an update of progress early the week beginning November 3rd, this did not happen , and now two subsequent calls and messages from me have not been returned by Mr Gregson?
4. Further, on 30th October I sent Mr Gregson an email with some helpful links and various history on statements by the Commonwealth and Medibank Private, this email was never acknowledged by him.
So todate the ACCC scorecard is a big 0, and I Am at a loss to understand why it has not met its own commitments and or returned telephone calls or acknowledged emails, in essence something fishy is going on here and we need to get updates quickly on this very urgent matter. Accordingly if you have lodged a complaint with the ACCC I encourage you to seek an update on progress and process for the investigation by emailing the following email addresses adjudication@accc.gov.au scott.gregson@accc.gov.au . Please ensure you quote your enquiry/ complaint number in the subject of your email. In addition you can also call Mr Gregson's office on (02) 62431350 if you wish.
The ACCC need to understand this is a serious case for investigation of misleading and deceptive conduct and they must investigate it, honour their commitments and fulfil their charter of operation.
With kind regards,
David Gronow
