## 📢 UPDATE: 109 Strong & The Facts the City Needs to Hear!
We just hit **109 signatures!** Thank you to everyone who has stepped up for the animals in Banning. As I prepare to speak at the City Council meeting on **April 28th**, I want to share some eye-opening data I’ve uncovered regarding our city’s animal services:
* **The Budget Gap:** Between 2020 and 2022, over **$183,000** in budgeted funds for animal services went unspent. That’s money that *could* have been helping our strays.
* **Missed Opportunities:** **$20,000** in grants originally meant for kennel expansions was unfortunately diverted to other projects.
* **Rising Costs:** While we are paying for feasibility studies, our actual animal control costs have spiked, and impound numbers have surged by **900%**.
**The bottom line:** We have the funds and the need—we just need the local facility to manage it properly.
Please share this update on Facebook, Nextdoor, or via text. Let’s show the Council that 109 is just the beginning. See you on the 28th!
