Many have asked for a clear description of where the proposed "shared" cycle path is to run through the "upper park" section of Alexandra Park.

Well HBC and ESCC haven't exactly been open and honest about what exactly is involved or planned, have they?

So I've made this video. Apologies it's 10 minutes long but the environment for this shared 2 way route is so varied and challenging I didn't want to miss anything out.

The situation in the lower park is bad enough but much of this section of the park is narrow, secluded, very fast. Cycles already go well over 20mph down these slopes illegally. If this route is opened to all and sundry there is no way any "official" route will be followed. 

Cycles and e-scooters will use any and every path, regardless of who it affects.

This park was beautifully designed for strolling and appreciating, not to be a glorified 2 wheeler fast bypass to the town centre.
