Petition updateThe Slaughter of the Snowy Brumby has commenced41 SO CALLED SCIENTISTS DEMAND AERIAL CULLING TO SPEED UP THE CULL AND SAVE $

41 of Australia's laziest and inept scientists submitted a letter to Premier Mike Baird supporting the cull but demanding that aerial culling be undertaken to speed the process up and to also save money. “Professor Don Driscoll, from Deakin University, one of the signatories of the letter, said academics behind the letter represented the greatest pool of knowledge about Alpine ecosystems in the country.” http://en.ce.cn/main/latest/201608/19/t20160819_15067647.shtml How arrogant of him to think that the knowledge of the local bushmen, stockmen and the first Australians is irrelevant as they are not academics. We cant forget Driscoll's previous discovery of which embarrassed Australia internationally when he had claimed that brumbies were cannibals. After reviewing their letter and discovering that not surprisingly their maths doesn't add up, you would think being a scientists would require basic mathematics skills, apparently checking that the numbers make sense isn't within the capabilities of these so called scientists According to the 41 so called scientists there were 4200 horses in 2009 and currently there are 6000 today and that on average 450 horses have been removed each year over the last 5 years. So based on the 2009 Estimate of 4200 that would equate to a total 6450 (4200+ 2250). However based on their statement that the horse numbers increase each year by 20% the current number should be 10637 including the 450 removed each year. If their statement regarding 20% increase is correct and assuming there were 3000 brumbies in the Snowy Mountains in the year 2000, today there would be over 55,000 brumbies in the high country. That's how ridiculous these numbers are, they just don't stack up. Either their maths skills are atrocious or there is something considerably wrong in the statistics they (NPWS) have been providing. Is this even more evidence that the NPWS have been proving misleading information to the public or does it just show their incompetence? I would imagine that both the 2009 and current numbers are inaccurate, knowing the high country very well for many years there is no way there are this many horses, the actual numbers are far less. For the NSW Government to rely on such rubbery numbers to slaughter our heritage horses and national icon would be nothing less then disgraceful. An urgent Senate inquiry needs to be made into the Management of the NPWS. Below is a list of the 41 so called scientists that whilst suckling on the public purse they have done nothing more then regurgitate the NPWS propaganda. And yet we wonder why our country is 3/4 of a trillion dollars in debt, well below you will find 41 reasons. ben.scheele@gmail.com chloe.sato@gmail.com david.freudenberger@anu.edu.au David.
