Petition update

Sikemi Okunrinboye
Lagos, Nigeria

Nov 22, 2019 —

Senator ...,

Nigerians are tired! this social media bill must stop NOW!

We have a right to freedom of expression and taking away our right to what we say on social media is taking away that very right. In this democracy, we can call out our leaders, we can call upon them, we can ask that they be held accountable. Passing this bill into law is infringing on out ability to do that.

The government that we elected is taking away our very right in passing this bill, and it cannot continue.

At least 7,000 Nigerians in less than 7hours have signed the petition for the social media bill to be stopped, and that number is growing rapidly.

In this democracy, our representatives are accountable to us and that they must do!

Please take us seriously, and take our word to the Senate!

For the betterment of Nigeria and for Nigerians, let us stop this now!

Thank you
