I previously “suggested” the use of AI to use as a tool in the merging of records because as of today, thousands of pages of medical history — including critical documents from the 1970s–1990s — still sit in VA basements or paper files, completely disconnected from digital charts.

Now, I  am suggesting we still incorporate these records BUT investing in human-led integration, not rely solely on AI algorithms to interpret complex, personal histories. Whether it’s “scanned archives”, DD214s, Deleted or Undeleted Records, these documents matter (they can show, MOS, chemical exposures, battle locations, missions, prior referrals, pertinent health information, symptoms, exposures, and so much more)— and they need to be seen by the next doctor.

💣Veterans’ care is only as good as the records their providers can see.💥
