Committee Members & Spring Fling fast approaching

North West PatchAustralie
3 oct. 2016
Hello North West Patch Followers, I wanted to send out a massive heartfelt thank you to everyone who was able to attend the garden forum 2 weeks ago. We had over 50 people attend which is amazing! It goes to show how important green space and growing veggies are to the people of North and West Melbourne. My apologies for not sending out an email earlier, I have been swamped with life and work. I loved hearing other locals stories of their own community garden ideas and successes. I hope it was as inspiring for all of you too? I would have loved a little more time for questions on the night, so if you have anything you would like to ask or discuss please do not hesitate. As mentioned on the night we are looking for dedicated individuals who would like to be part of the committee for the garden. I didn’t get a chance to write down any names of the lovely locals who approached me afterwards, so if you are interested please let me know, either email or call. Also if you could let me know of any skills you can bring along, that would be excellent. 0434 393 622 northwestpatch@gmail.com Spring Fling is getting closer now and we’re very excited for what we’ll have on offer on the day. As mentioned we’ll have an amazing raffle with products from Fowlers Vacola, the local preserving and bottling company. I have also just had North Melbourne Arts House donate a Double Season Pass for season 1 2017! So we’re very excited at the prospect of fundraising a lot of money for the North West Patch. On the day of the Spring Fling, the 16th of September, it would be great to have people roaming the festival selling tickets. If this is something that you think you could help with, your support would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know what time/how many hours you could donate, asap. If walking around is not really your thing a couple of extra hands helping at the stall would be fantastic too, again let me know what time you could help. On Tuesday we’ll be building our Wicking bed for the stall. We were hoping to get donations from Bowens Timber in North Melbourne for this, if you happen to know the manager or anyone who works there I would love to get in contact with them to discuss this further. Alternatively if anyone has an amount of scrap untreated timber lying around we’d love to hear from you too! That’s it for today. I’ll be sending through another update prior to the Spring Fling on the 16th. Thanks for all the incredible support! Together we can make this happen! Kind regards, -Bridget
