Big WIN against Pritzker in high school sports case - but it isn't over yet

We had a HUGE VICTORY in court against Gov. Pritzker this week! Gov. Pritzker's lawyers tried to transfer our lawsuit over the cancelation of high school sports from LaSalle County to Sangamon County where all the COVID-19 cases are being consolidated in front of ONE JUDGE. The Sangamon County judge REJECTED JURISDICTION and sent our case back to LaSalle County! In fact, the judge scolded Gov. Pritzker for attempting to forum shop the case to a venue where he was getting favorable rulings!

The Sangamon judge said: "Because Sangamon County courts have consistently made rulings that are favorable to the State of Illinois, in previous litigation challenging governmental restrictions imposed to control the spread of COVID-19, concern has been sufficiently established for this court to believe that Defendant’s motion to change venue to Sangamon County is a not-so-veiled disguise to shop for a friendly forum."

THIS IS a HUGE VICTORY for our kids and for the Constitution! This is the kind of legal work that needs to be done by tough, smart lawyers like the ones at Remember America Action.

Our next step is to get our hearing on our Motion for Summary Judgment scheduled and Gov. Pritzker's lawyers are trying to delay this hearing! 

We need to get a strong ruling in this case so that Gov. Pritzker cannot randomly shut down sports and schools ever again. Right now - he can - and we can't allow that to happen.
