In her Report last June Shami Chakrabarti explained that
'In day-to-day political debate, it is always incendiary to compare the actions of Jewish people or institutions anywhere in the world to those of Hitler or the Nazis or to the perpetration of the Holocaust. Indeed such remarks can only be intended to be incendiary rather than persuasive.'
Of course it is fine if Israel's supporters invoke the Holocaust to justify Zionism, but if opponents of Israel compare its actions to the Nazis or compare features of Nazi Germany to those of Israel it is 'anti-Semitic' or worse.
In his speech to the Jewish Labour Movement this month Jones described how:
'It was hearing about Mr Smith’s family experience under the Nazis that helped Mr Jones develop his understanding of contemporary antisemitism and the experience of British Jews today.... Without sounding like a cliché, a lot my friends are grandchildren of Holocaust survivors and Stef’s family were killed in their dozens in the Holocaust.' Jewish Chronicle 1.4.17.
This is what has led him to becoming a mouthpiece for the Zionists.
The Holocaust is the property of Zionism. Only they have access to it in order to create a foundational myth that Israel was the inevitable outcome of the holocaust and that the Zionists led the resistance to the Nazis.
However reality and myth rarely coincide. In Israel today whilst using the holocaust as a propaganda weapon, the actual holocaust survivors are kept in poverty in order that Israel's corrupt political elite can continue in their ways.
Naturally the Campaign Against Anti-semitism will deem this anti-Semitic, which is another reason to ensure that this petition is widely supported.
No far nearly 2,500 people have signed the petition. Let's double that!
