The question that is not being considered about the behavior of our ADF in Afghanistan is whether the military engagement was accepted by the soldiers as necessary to defend  Australian territory and its people or was it an opportunity to put into practice the lessons on killing in a country far from their own people. With so many veterans suffering PTSD or having taken their own lives the question of WHY they were there must prey on veterans minds.
