Conferees for the Conference Committee on HB 3 have been named:

House - Huberty, Ashby, Bernal, Gonzales, Mary, King, Ken

Senate - Taylor, Nelson, Campbell, West, Watson

We are certain they have already started their work. There is a possibility the committee might revise the language of the amendment to make it address our issues of concern. Senator West authored the amendment and might be persuaded to attempt to amend it. We were fortunate that Senator West is on the committee.

We should contact all members of the committee to tell them again about our concern.

A change in our amendment would require at least 3 house members and 3 senate members.

Please join us in contacting the offices of the conference committee members and asking them to amend the bill to save Texas Child Care. Reference page 1587 of the senate journal for May 6 2019, amendment 59 in your discussion or correspondence with them. Inform them that you would like the following verbiage " ... the district or school must solicit and consider proposals for partnership to provide those classes with community based child car providers..." revised to ""..the district or school must enter into partnership with community based child care providers to provide those classes".

It is imperative that we contact them asap.
