In Syria, trees are being planted for those still missing

Dear signers,
It’s been a while since you signed our petition calling for an end to the violence and for the protection of civilians across the region. Today, I wanted to share with you a remarkable initiative that has grown in Syria to preserve the memory of those who were killed and of the more than 100,000 people who remain missing or disappeared: The Fig Gardens.
The Fig Gardens plants fruit trees across Syria in memory of those who were killed and those whose families are still waiting for answers. Each tree carries a person’s name and story, creating a living place of remembrance where families and communities can gather, remember and keep their loved ones’ stories alive.
The initiative is led by Syrians themselves and is now growing in communities across the country.
If you want to support The Fig Gardens and help more trees be planted and more stories preserved, you can do so by clicking here.
In solidarity,
Razan
