On Wednesday, Equinor announced it made £62 billion in profit last year.
While it was raking more profits than it has ever made in its history, the number of people in fuel poverty was doubling. Its CEO said we should expect energy bills to stay high for years to come. Still the UK government plans to hand Equinor and partners over £500 million in tax relief to develop Rosebank.
People across the UK and Norway took to the streets to protest. From the Science Museum, a vigil at the Norwegian embassy (Equinor is state-owned by Norway), at Equinor’s Aberdeen and London offices, and up mountains threatened by climate change in Norway. Thank you to all those who made noise online and offline about #StopRosebank.
Please take a look at some of the shots from the actions and share it around on... instagram, twitter, and facebook.
Our energy system is utterly broken. It’s their profit, our loss. We’re not going to take it anymore.
If you're willing to spend a few minutes taking action today, please visit this page to put pressure on Equinor online. Every action counts.
