I emailed Senator Patterson with a link to this petition, and her legislative assistant responded with the following message below.  Please let Senator Patterson know that you appreciate her support.

Dear Perry,

Thank you for reaching out to Senator Patterson. The senator is a very compassionate and caring person, and your story is heartbreaking. As a pet owner myself, (of a 17-year-old cat), I have been feeding this same brand of cat food to my cat! I will immediately stop. It’s very difficult to know what is in pet food these days. The senator signed your petition, and I did as well. Senator Patterson asked me to forward your petition to others and I will do that same at my end from home, on my own personal email.

Thank you for sharing your story. It breaks my heart to think about it. Thank you for being an advocate for the health and safely of our beloved pets.
