Huge News! Our Demand for a Big Tech and Junk Food Tax is Now on the Prime Minister's Desk.

We have massive news! On October 22nd, 2025, the Alliance 4 Children, joined by a powerful cross-sector delegation, personally delivered our letter and your petition—backed by over 27,000 signatures—to 10 Downing Street.

This wasn't just a simple drop-off. We handed in a formal call to the Prime Minister, the Chancellor, and the Secretary of State for DSIT, demanding immediate action to fund children's health and well-being.

What We Handed In:

75 Parliamentarians
Over 200 professional organisations (including leading health bodies and charities)
The message is clear: the scale of the children's health crisis—from childhood obesity to mental health—is unsustainable, and the industries profiting from it must pay to fix it.

Our Dual-Taxation Proposal:
The letter demands two specific actions, with all funds strictly ring-fenced for local children’s health services:

An Increase in the Digital Services Tax (DST) on Big Tech from 2% to 6%. This is essential to address the online harms that fuel anxiety and poor health. An Increased Levy on Junk Food (HFSS) Companies. This will incentivize reformulating unhealthy products and generate funds for local physical activity and diet initiatives.

What Happens Next?Delivering the petition is only the beginning. The Government is now formally aware of the massive public, political, and professional appetite for this change. We are pushing hard for this dual-tax to be included in the forthcoming Poverty Strategy and future fiscal plans.
