Church House in Truro is aware of this petition and is steadfastly ignoring the concerns of those who have signed it.

At the end of January several parishes in Kerrier received official letters from the diocesan solicitor stating that the Bishop of St Germans was ‘suspending the rights of presentation of the Patrons to present an incumbent’. Many of those who received these letters had no idea what they meant. In fact, such notices are generally a precursor of pastoral reorganisation. This could be an indication that the diocese is moving forward with its plans to force the merger of 16 parishes in 6 benefices into a single group with just one PCC. Twenty three churches with just one full time vicar and one ‘pioneer priest’ who wouldn’t work on Sundays.

We have to keep working hard to try to suspend these changes so that the view of the parishioners can be properly established.
