Save Our Bays - You Can Help!

Citizens of Gardiner's Bay
Jun 26, 2020

Hello!

Oyster cages that float on the surface of the water pose a great danger to people and property, and impede everyone's ability to navigate Peconic and Gardiner's Bay safely.

As the 10-Year Review on the Suffolk County Aquaculture Lease Program (SCALP) draws to a close on June 29, you can make a big difference by speaking out against this floating shellfish cultivation gear.

We want to support our oyster growers who deploy gear that rests on the bottom. This equipment allows safe passage to vessels large and small, and preserves the scenic beauty of the East End of Long Island.

Learn about how we are trying to protect our bays at Citizens of Gardiner's Bay.

Please contribute a comment this weekend if you can - your voice makes a difference!
