Hi,
My name is Lucas, I’m 15 years old and live on stolen Whadjuk Noongar Land in Western Australia. Like many others, I am tired of our politicians again, refusing to commit to real climate action.
The election is just 8 days away and we need your help. Last week, thousands of students AGAIN hit the streets, striking from school in towns and cities across the country, demanding climate justice from our politicians in this election. Thousands more are hitting the streets again today.
Despite the clear science, our government continues to accept huge political donations from fossil fuel corporations and ignore the policy needed to protect our futures, protect first nations lands and protect our environment.
So far, we’ve had 58 strike events with thousands of strikers taking part. We’re also meeting MPs, holding MP teach-ins, running climate forums and we reached thousands of young people to enrol to vote. We’re putting climate justice and increased ambition on climate on the agenda for politicians across all the political parties and voters in our communities.
With just 8 days until the election, SS4C is holding more strikes, more school walk-outs, more MP meetings, community climate forums and a presence on election day to ensure our politicians are hearing from young people and that people are voting for our futures. But we need your support to have our voices heard loud and clear.
Your help will ensure we can reach more people, more MPs and candidates and ensure climate justice is at the forefront of this last week of the election campaign.
In hope,
Lucas, Whadjuk Noongar Country
