The petition has been presented to House Representative Kimberly Ann-Collins. Ms. Collins works closely with House Representatives: Bill Allen and Bill Lucas who are all members of the Sentencing and Oversight Committee. This committee was established to analysis the cause and reduce the number of inmate deaths in Missouri. She is also an appointed member of the Missouri Justice Reinvestment Executive Oversight Council, which oversees and monitors the implementation of policies designed to reduce the prison population. My law office has reached out to her, and I will post an update if I receive a response. I am hoping she can guide this effort into the hands of someone that will assist in advocating for the implementation of brain development research into Missouri's sentencing guidelines.
