Azadi Means Freedom is not just a story about a stadium ban—it’s about the long history of Iranian women and girls fighting for their rights. With the support of activist friends and my beloved family—and the stories of other protesters like the Blue Girl and the White Scarves movement—I reached the powerful halls of FIFA and the United Nations to plead the case for Iran’s women.  I hope this story helps people better understand and continue to support that fight, which is more urgent than ever.
