Holderness Hunt Kills Fox in Front of Monitors, Police Take 'No Further Action'
In a disturbing incident, the Holderness Hunt chased and unleashed hounds on a defenseless fox, leaving the animal brutally torn apart. Shockingly, despite photographic evidence and eyewitness accounts provided by Hull Wildlife Protectors (HWP), the police have taken no further action.
HWP, dedicated to safeguarding wildlife, captured harrowing images of the Beverly-based Holderness Hunt's hounds mauling a fox while hunt staff watched idly, refusing to intervene. This gruesome incident unfolded in plain sight, prompting HWP to immediately report the incident to the Humberside Police Rural Task Force.
However, recent developments have left us stunned and outraged. The police, citing 'evidential difficulties' and 'insufficient evidence to show a realistic prospect of a conviction under s.1 Hunting Act 2004,' have decided to take 'no further action.'
This shocking outcome is sadly not an isolated incident. It epitomizes a systemic issue across the UK, where hunts continue to pursue and mercilessly kill foxes, seemingly immune to the law.
We refuse to accept this injustice year after year. If an ordinary citizen were to unleash a pack of uncontrollable dogs on our streets, the consequences would be severe. Yet, these wildlife abusers evade accountability.
The message is clear: we need comprehensive reform of hunting laws. We must eliminate the existing flaws and ambiguities in the legislation. It's imperative that we support organisations like Hull Wildlife Protectors, actively engaged in countering these hunts and advocating for a ban on fox hunting.
If you share our anger and frustration, consider joining Protect the Wild in adopting a fox. Your support, starting at just £3 per month, empowers us to protect British wildlife and advocate for stronger legal measures.
We operate independently, free from major backers' influence, solely driven by our commitment to ending fox hunting. We provide equipment, campaign for a proper hunting ban, and create impactful animations to expose the grim reality of what is really happening in the countryside.
Together, we can bring an end to this barbaric practice. The hunts may persist, but with your backing, we'll hasten their demise.
