URGENT APPEAL: A growing need to care for injured foxes
Since the launch of our Fox Rescue Centre campaign, Marley’s Haven founder, Pauline, has been contacted multiple times to care for injured foxes.
Just last week Pauline took in the first fox, which is believed to have been hit by a car. Despite Pauline’s best efforts, the fox sadly passed away in the early hours on Sunday.
“As soon as I arrived I thought the fox was dead but when I touched him he moved. I took him to the vet immediately and they carried out X-rays and full check. There were no fractures so believe that the issue was neurological. We provided the fox tablets for nausea and pain relief. He was stable, but so poorly. At 1am his breathing became slow, I placed my hand under his head he took three deep breaths, and sadly passed away.” Pauline
With the centre still in development, and the demand for Pauline’s support becoming more frequent, we are now calling for support to ensure that Pauline has the resources, veterinary support, equipment, food, and infrastructure to provide care for as many animals as possible.
With orphan season on the horizon, we desperately need your help to ensure we give as many wild foxes as possible, and other wildlife, the best possible change for survival.
We simply cannot sit back knowing that animals are suffering. We need your help to ensure we can give these animals the best possible chance, and if our efforts are in vain, we are at least able to give the animals the most comfortable environment, where they are no longer in pain.
