It took 9  months of effort, but on Thursday evening Vancouver City Council voted to review their current multiplex policy. The motion was put forward by Councillors Peter Meiszner and Lenny Zhou to consider building scale (size), massing, setbacks, tree canopy and relationship to neighbouring properties. All ABC councillors and the Mayor voted "yes" to the motion. Lucy Maloney  (OneCity) voted "no" and Pete Fry (Green Party)  and Sean Orr (COPE) left before the motion was heard and were marked absent.

So what's next? We need to keep the pressure up. We are going to continue to engage politicians from every political party to ensure this review leads to change in order to preserve the beauty of Vancouver and ensure density is combined with liveability.
