The COVID pandemic has resulted in a cancer backlog of up to 100,000 patients. Patients across the country are facing record waits for cancer diagnosis and treatment. Without urgent Government action, cancer patients will continue to be at risk with potentially devastating consequences for them and their families.

As you already know we started the #CatchUpWithCancer campaign after we lost our daughter Kelly when her treatment for bowel cancer was stopped as a result of the pandemic. We have been calling on the Government to protect cancer patients from the impact of the pandemic ever since and yet the crisis remains unsolved. A mounting backlog and record waiting times for both diagnosis and treatment means that unfortunately, many more cancer patients are at risk of losing their lives prematurely.

Without Government intervention and investment to boost capacity, they cannot catch up with the backlog and patients will continue to suffer. That is why we need your help to encourage our politicians to demand urgent action.
